Artist Statement
VIEW ART By Mitchell Rosenzweig
My current paintings were achieved through long periods of experimentation with various paintig materials and applications. Acrylic, oil, enamel, and spray paint, are mixed with scavenged billboard poster pieces, to re-purpose their text and vibrant colors.
My primary focus is on the process of painting, developing color relationships, and depth. My paintings start with a basic subconscious sketch. By layering forms of color through drawing and painting, The process of addition and subtraction of colors and form allows me to view the unexpected and work towards a resolution.
